Tim is the CFO of our holding company Tsebo Solutions Group, is a member of the Executive Committee, and sits on the Board of Thorburn Security Solutions (Northern and Southern Region).  After school Tim joined the Military, where he completed Officer’s Training School.  Prior to joining Tsebo in 2002 he held both supply chain and financial leadership positions at SA Breweries and Barloworld Equipment.  Tim is highly qualified, having studied at WITS University where he qualified with a B.Comm, a B.Acc and as a C.A.  Among his many interests are cycling, shooting, polo, reading, spear fishing, and kite surfing.  



FC is a well-known name in South African rugby history.  He studied at Stellenbosch University and gained provincial colours in rugby, whereafter he went on to make a name for himself in this field. After spending two years in France, FC joined Gray Security Services in 1994 and resigned as a Regional Director in 2000.  He enjoys horses, hunting, cooking and is a keen entertainer.



Rina joined the Thorburn team as Financial Director on 1 December 2015, having been with the Tsebo group since 2009, when she joined as Group Financial Manager. She has been instrumental in building the capabilities and capacity of Group Services as well as in helping to support the growth, particularly acquisitive, achieved by Tsebo over that time. Rina studied part time at UJ (then RAU) and completed her articles at a medium size audit firm. She qualified with a B Comm and Honours in Accounting and received her CA (SA) designation in 2001.  Rina also holds a Certified Internal Auditor qualification.  After articles, she was appointed at BHP Billiton as Senior Internal auditor and later by Barloworld Limited as Divisional Internal Audit Manager. She was promoted to Financial Executive in January 2008 at Plascon, then still part of the Barloworld group. 



Dolf served in the former SADF as a Lt Col and moved to the private sector in 1995. Over the years he developed from pure operational security management to business management in 1999 with the appointment as MD at the former Gray Security Services. In the UK he worked as a Senior Risk Auditor for Securicor and managed various specialist functions from investigations, business intelligence, profiling to quality assurance in his position as  Head of Consultancy for Africa. As a business and product development director, he expanded his risk reduction solution design knowledge through research and development linked to experience gained over 10 years in the industry. He joined Thorburn in October 2005 and is in control of the Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces, in addition to the Northern Cape.  Dolf is renowned in the industry and in the market for his leadership abilities and is highly respected by customers and colleagues alike.  He is a family man and in his spare time is an avid bowls player.



Born in Cape Town, Reggie served in the former SADF as a permanent force officer and moved to the private sector in 1988 when he accepted a career opportunity at the University of Stellenbosch as an Assistant Accountant. In 1999 he became Security Contracts Manager for the former Gray Security Services. He left G4S in October 2006 where he held the position of GM. Reggie joined Thorburn Security Solutions in November 2006. Reggie is married with four children. They enjoy the outdoors and often go caravaning. Gardening and motor-sport are some of his hobbies. Reggie is responsible for the Southern Region, which incorporates the greater Western Cape and part of the Northern Cape.

LEBA MASHAO | Executive Chairperson of the Board

Leba’s strong business management and transformation comes a long way from her days when she served as a Director at the Ministry of Labour in the Employment Services. Her skill set contains stakeholder management, business change management skills and strategy integration and alignment of the business goals with market dynamics for business viability.  She is currently a Human Resources Executive at Afrisam as well as a member of the Black Business Executives and an affiliate of a number of Professional bodies.



Thabang completed his Matric at Pretoria Boys High School. His passionate interest in Sales and Marketing guided his studies, as he completed a Business to Business Marketing Certificate at  UNISA and has an IMM Graduate Diploma in Marketing from Varsity College, Pretoria. He was appointed Sales Assistant at Securicor in 2003 and was eventually promoted to Business Development Manager.  His affiliation within Professional Institutions granted him insight and opportunities of growth in this field, which includes membership with the Institute of Marketing Management, Business Unity South Africa, Black Management Forum, NAFCOC and the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.



Jan-Louis started his career in the security industry as consultant and project manager at Propenta Engineering Consultants in Pretoria in 1994.  He has held various executive positions in organizations and was a shareholder and director with BAC Surveillance Unit and Cueincident, who was responsible for some of the largest City Surveillance Systems at the time.  Jan-Louis has been involved in various high profile security technology installations and has consulted on projects locally and abroad.  He joined the Thorburn Group in 2011.  His qualifications include B-Tech Industrial Engineering from Pretoria University of Technology and a MBA (Diploma) from Henley – United Kingdom.


MAPULENG MOROPA | Non-Executive Director

Mapuleng has recently obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from GIBS; and has a BSc Degree in Information Technology where she majored in Computer Science. Mapuleng has been with Barclays Africa for over 6 years and has held various leadership roles within business banking. She started her career at Accenture as a Business Analyst and moved on to PricewaterhouseCoopers where she spent several years as a Management Consultant specialising in Strategy and Business Improvement. She was involved and managed a number of projects for various blue chip multinationals in the mining, energy, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services and public sectors. Mapuleng is passionate about social development and would like to contribute towards reducing the rate of unemployment in the country through her involvement in the Social Entrepreneurship Programme initiated by the GIBS Alumni.
